The Daily Drinker

Bowes Wine Sends Good Wine Home

Ever eager to introduce wine-lovers to new and exciting experiences, Bowes Wine has hit upon an idea to gladden the hearts of any oenophile.

As is widely known, Bowes Wine runs a short but pithy list of wines for everyday drinking to supplement their regular offers of wines to lay down. The company now believes that it is time to show off their skill in finding such luminary bottles to a wider audience.

Bowes Wine proprietor, Caspar Bowes, explains the thinking behind a new and audacious marketing concept: "We know we have the wines. We concentrate on small-production wineries that are not represented in the supermarkets and multiple merchants and have found bottles of extraordinary quality. But I can understand clients' hesitation at forking out for an entire case of a wine that they've never tasted. It is this understanding that has lead to the birth of The Daily Drinker."

Caspar went on to explain, "The Daily Drinker is a club for clients who want regular titillation for their taste buds and to open their doors of vinous perception."

Bowes Wine's plan is to get all members of The Daily Drinker club enjoying better and more diverse wine.

Clients signing up to The Daily Drinker will pay a one-off annual fee of £250. For that fee they will receive:

·          Monthly delivery of a pair of free sample bottles - two different wines per month - of the best wines for current drinking that Bowes Wine has discovered during recent tastings

·          A 10% discount when ordering cases of those wines for home delivery

·          Caspar's detailed tasting notes of the sample wines, as well as descriptions of the winery and regions of production.

Clients can also opt for a Quarterly Membership of £90 (two samples will be sent every third month) or for a Bi-Monthly Membership of £135 (two samples every other month). For these two memberships, clients can choose to receive just white or just red.

Caspar adds: "This is not only something that clients can do for themselves, but what better present could you possibly buy for a wine lover on their birthday or at Christmas than a gift that continues throughout the next 12 months, creating little pockets of gratitude on a monthly basis?"

When asked about the kind of wine experience The Daily Drinker would be offering, it became clear that Bowes Wine intend to push the envelope. "This is a different prospect to the Bowes Wine drinking wine list, the purpose of which is to sell the most delicious, good value wines that we've tasted recently. The Daily Drinker is all about finding superior quality in the more unlikely places: the rare appellations; the small producers; the oddball grape varieties that no one's heard of. Our aim is to surprise and educate!"
