This is one of the key estates in
Vosne-Romanée, ergo one of the top addresses
in all Burgundy.
|
|
A large part of the brilliance exhibited here is down
to Etienne Grivot, who took over the estate in 1987.
Etienne’s father and grandfather had forged a
fine reputation for their domaine, yet Etienne
determined to reassess practices, both in the
vineyard and the winery.
|
|
Mnay changes have been made over the years and what
is evident is that Etienne, with these changes, has
garnered a profound depth of understanding into the
terroirs he works and the wines he makes.
|
|
And one has the impression that Etienne finds himself
on a restless journey, constantly questing for ways
to improve wines that are already among the best of
this senior commune.
