The Producer
|
|
I guess in some ways a visit to this domaine and the
tasting that goes with such a visit is very much akin
to time spent at the Domaine Jean Grivot in Vosne.
Like Etienne Grivot, Gerard Boudot is a one-stop
top-up for one’s understanding of the vineyards
with which he’s associated and a chance to hear
in-depth analysis of the qualities of the current
vintage.
|
|
And Gerard Boudot is intimately familiar with the
soils of Puligny. He is well aware of the best ways
of translating the quality of individual terroirs
into the most profound and sublime white wine.
|
|
In short, a stop-off at Sauzet is to taste some of
the finest white wines made in Burgundy.

Keywords for the Sauzet style: glamour; purity;
ravishing fruit; clarity of terroir.
