Through careful, non-interventionist practices in both vineyard and winery, Domiaine Chézeaux bottles exceptionally fine red burgundies of precision and character. And, at the village level, they offer exceptional value.

Very nice, rich looking pinky ruby. There’s a hint of violet to the nose, which comes across as a touch creamy, with a spice nuance to the domestic fruit of plum and strawberry. Goes into the mouth with a wealth of delicious fruit of the same character I smelled on the nose. Yet there’s also instant freshness: an acidic structure that runs right through the palate, flirts with minerality. Tannin is but a wisp in this long wine. It’s very easy to like and very delicious.
2019 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru Les Fourchaumes, Domaine Jérôme Chézeaux

This is more backward than the village example. It gives up red fruits, principally cherry and darker things: spice and smoke. Touch of mint here. Rich and creamy instant on entry, then very quickly attracts its structure. This is much more tannic, much more embryonic. Fruit melds to tannin (upright, incisive) melds to acidity, forming a very direct spear that goes on for minutes. Wow. This is quite something. Very very impressive wine, even at this stage.
