Grignolino - Grape Variety

Grignolino is grown exclusively in Piedmont, from where it originates. The berries have a great many pips, which explains the highly tannic nature of the wine it produces. Its an ancient grape, but one that is mostly enjoyed locally. The wines it produces are pale in colour, of low-ish alcohol and are akin to Pinot Noir in style.
