This estate dates from the start of the 20th century when Georges Lignier inherited some vines from his father. It remains a family enterprise to this day. Benoit Stehly - the nephew of Georges's grandson - now runs the estate, which covers 16 hectares that includes 50 parcels of vines in 17 different communes.

After the Gevrey, this is reserved; delicate, almost. Touch of something slightly exotic here, like ginger biscuits. Fruit is domestic, deep red and delicious-smelling, cherry mainly. There’s a herbal note that could be the wood. This is much less extrovert than the Nuits wines. Cooler too. It’s perhaps more subtle and elegant with a swathe of fabulous very fine tannin reaching for the horizon. Very, very long and mineral wine of superb dimension at the finish. Classy, fresh, composed. Fine wine. Lovely. Bowes Wine original note
"Open and scented with red fruit and a hint of something floral, rather delicate, though there is spice too. Dry and more savoury on the palate than I expected. Finesse in the tannins and the fruit of only moderate intensity, though it is in balance with the structure. Juicy and moreish and I don't think you need to wait long for this." Julia Harding MW
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
