Vines have been grown in this region - between Marseilles and Toulon - since the 6th century BC. Tempier itself already existed during the reign of Louis XV (early 18th century), whilst the Tempier house was constructed in 1834. The estate has 38 hectares split between various parcels, from which they make some of the most profound and longest-living red wines of all. And the Domaine Tempier rosé is often cited as being the finest in the world and is also capable of long development in bottle.

"Well, this is never going to be given away. See Tempier - 30 year-old rosé for some background. Standard issue pale salmon pink. Much earthier, more complex and nuanced nose than other Provençal pinks. Spreads pungently all across the palate and there is not the merest hint of fermentation aromas. Very long. Truly, smokily, herbily outstanding. A proper wine! Already broachable with excellent substance. This will surely last many a long year. " Jancis Robinson
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
