N.B. This is 92.5% Grenache, the rest Syrah Again, here the nose is practically port-like: a roasted cordial of black cherry, charred meat, burnt earth and laurel. The aromas are classic Châteauneuf, although there intensity is pure '03. The palate here is super-fluid. This is huge wine! It's very, very concentrated, with masses of well-integrated, massive tannins that are very, very ripe. There is gargantuan grip to the long, long finish and a delicious coffee-ish, black fruit flavour that gets deposited in the mouth. Whew! Lock up your daughters! Bowes Wine original note (N.B. This wine is uber-mature. Do not open or decant in advance of consumption)
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
