This domaine was founded in 1930 by Julien Missery. The first Chezeaux to accede to the ownership was Bernard in 1971. His son Jérôme took over in 1993 on the death of his father. The estate is situated in Prémeaux-Prissey: one of those twin villages in the Nuits hinterland where no one seems to stop. They run 12 hectares of vineyard, some of which came as a dowry from Jérôme's wife Pierette's family. The vineyards are worked by "lutte raisonné" i.e. litterally "the reasoned struggle", which means that chemical treatments are only used when absolutely necessary.

Very nice, rich looking pinky ruby. There’s a hint of violet to the nose, which comes across as a touch creamy, with a spice nuance to the domestic fruit of plum and strawberry. Goes into the mouth with a wealth of delicious fruit of the same character I smelled on the nose. Yet there’s also instant freshness: an acidic structure that runs right through the palate, flirts with minerality. Tannin is but a wisp in this long wine. It’s very easy to like and very delicious. Bowes Wine original note
"Deep aroma of pure dark-red fruit and subtle oak spice. Open and inviting. Firm, smooth tannins. Generous, sweet fruit balanced by lively acidity, the alcohol well hidden. Good length." Julia Harding MW
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
