2019 Reserve Botrytis Semillon, Berton Vineyards

2019 Reserve Botrytis Semillon, Berton Vineyards

Ref: BERT190
White  |  Sweet  |  11% ABV

Established by Bob and Cherie Berton in May 1996, the estate covers 30 hectares of land located on gently rolling hills at 450 metres above sea level, in a subregion of Eden Valley in South Australia. The Reserve Shiraz and Reserve Chardonnay wines are still sourced from this plot. In 2007, Bob purchased the Yenda winery in the heart of the Riverina. This state-of- the-art facility has the capacity to process 20,000 tonnes and enables Berton Vineyard to produce value for money wines which sit alongside their premium single vineyard offerings.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes

"Mango syrup and ginger tea. Voluptuous fruit but under a restraining smoky haze. Apricot-syrup-drenched brioche nuttiness. The acidity provides the wine with a backbone that I couldn’t find in the De Bortoli Noble One, and I must say that I prefer it. The finish is more refined and the wine carries its own weight. Fragrant oolong-tea notes on the end." jancisrobinson.com

Sweetness Explained
Sweetness Explained

Sweetness

All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.

Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
