2020 Malvasia Zala, Vini Noüe Marinic, Vini Noüe Marinic

Ref: NOUE200
White  |  Still  |  14% ABV

In 2019, Charles-Louis de Noüe arrived in Slovenia. With a strong family tradition of winemaking in Burgundy (he is the nephew of Anne Claude Leflaive from Domaine Leflaive), and driven by his passion for finding the most authentic and prestigious terroirs for growing vines, he soon brought some abandoned vineyards back into production. The same year, he and his Slovenian partner Alis Marinic launched Vini Noüe Marinic.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes

“I found fascinating and unusual aromas here, rich and redolent of baked lemons, rhubarb, even rambutans, with a hint of Chablis-esque lanolin maturity about it. The palate offers instant grapefruit freshness. It grips long and fresh and has a core of crushed soil mineral structure. Makes you think…but only good things!” My note

“Golden straw yellow. A big hit of oak. A little like panna cotta with rich yellow fruit underneath and with a saline note. The oak is much more tied in with the lemony peach fruit, but it is certainly not hiding. Supple, nervy acidity stitches the fruit and oak together. Very long and focused.” Walter Speller on jancisrobinson.com

Sweetness Explained
Sweetness Explained

Sweetness

All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.

Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
