Doisy Daëne has vineyards of just over 18 hectares and until the late 19th century was part of the great Doisy estate that included what are now Châteaux Doisy Védrines and Doisy Dubroca. From 1924 Château Doisy Daëne has been owned by the Dubourdieu family, who have turned out to be keen innovators. For example, they bottled the first dry white wine from the Sauternes region. And in 1990 introduced L'Extravagant de Doisy Daëne, a super-charged and highly botrytised wine.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes

Really pungent, aromatic wine. I found notes of candied orange peel, along with aromas of herbs and conifer needles. The palate is a solid wall of powerfully sweet fruit. Very sweet in the mouth and that orange peel returns. A rich, serious and lovely wine. Note taken during primeurs week

Sweetness

All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.

Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
