Slow Boat to China (actually, Crown Cellars in Hong Kong)

The next wine shipment to Crown Wine Cellars in Hong Kong has been announced. Wines must be with the shipper by 22nd August latest for a 2nd September sailing. Shipments generally take 23 days or thereabouts.

You might like to have a look at your portfolio to see whether anything therein is in a fit state of drink-ability (feel free to ask for advice on this should you require it), but i thought I would put together a short, pithy list of delicious wines that might be just the thing for filling empty spaces in one's wine fridge.

So how about...

Our house champagne, Larnaudie-Hirault. All cuvées have attracted praise from far and wide, with the Blanc de Noirs (the wine we drink most often than any other from this range) coming top in the Global Pinot Noir Masters competition. The wines are:

2017 Wild Ferment Assyrtiko, Gaia £105 per 6

From a recent offering. Some clients have already been drinking this and we've received nothing but high praise. Drinks like a 1er cru Chassagne Montrachet crossed with a fine Chablis. It really is that good.

2014 Sacrisassi Rosso, Le Due Terre £150 per 6
Incredible class and loveliness in this northern Italian red. "Wonderful succulence and length..." jancisrobinson.com

2012 Gigondas, Domaine Saint-Gayan £192 a dozen
Anyone with even a passing interest in the wine of the southern Rhône will be utterly beguiled by this. It's like a velociraptor in a silk suit i.e. elegant but a bit scary. And who'd've thought dinosaurs could be quite so tasty?

2014 Meursault Village Vieilles Vignes, Buisson-Charles £312 a dozen
Stunner of a vintage; wine from one of the masters of the commune. Cannot imagine a better Friday night treat.
