Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes

Fruit is black and blue, highly spiced and properly Gevrey-sauvage. Aromas are rich, rather less pronounced than in the Chambolle, but dense, brooding and smoky. There’s a welcome note of violet within. More control on entry, but dense yet. Nutty note to the blue and darker fruit and this is loaded with structure. Tannin assertive, acidity really present and very juicy. A long thing that will take longer to come ‘round than the Chambolle. It’s ripe, but properly Gevrey and very long and direct. Super. Bowes Wine original note

"Quite peppery and spicy over pure and quite dark fruit. Archetypical Gevrey until you taste it, then there's an unexpected juicy red-fruit character which really lifts this wine. Firm, dry tannins need more time than some village wines in this vintage.Julia Harding MW

Sweetness Explained
Sweetness Explained

Sweetness

All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.

Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
