2016 Bordeaux Tasting Notes
Caspar spent a week in Bordeaux in early April tasting as many young Bordeaux wines - red white and sweet - as he could get his hands on. The results can be found in his tasting notes below, with a separate page for each commune:
The best wines are transparent, medium-bodied, fresh and pure.
We would add that there was variation in style within each commune, implying that each vigneron had quite a number of decisions to make vis-à-vis how to get the best from the fruit.
- St Estèphe
- Pauillac
- St Julien
- Margaux
- Other Médoc
- Pessac-Léognan
- Dry White
- Sweet White
- St Emilion
- Pomerol
- Other Right Bank
