2020 Scheu Aber Geil, Emil Bauer

2020 Scheu Aber Geil, Emil Bauer

Ref: BAUE200
White  |  Still  |  12% ABV

This family business is into its fifth generation, after brothers Alexander and Martin took over from their father Norbert in 2011. The brothers set out on a radical, even controversial path to show German wines in a new and irreverent light. Their names and labels of course captured people’s attention – their wines have featured pit-side at the German Grand Prix – but behind the anecdotes and jokes are brilliantly made wines from the rolling hills of the Pfalz and their vineyards in and around Landau-Nussdorf.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes

Very bright, pale lemon with a greenish tinge. Nose here is very clean and bright with crisp green apple and electric grapefruit pith aromas. I can also find notes of green orange with a hint of something floral. The palate is dry and crisp with a lovely lightness of touch. The green orange thing returns backed by spice and there's a saline touch hidden within the grapefruit acidity, which is well cached. I found a lasting pithy freshness , with real grapefruit refreshment at the end. The perfect summer pick-me-up. Bowes Wine original note

Sweetness Explained
Sweetness Explained

Sweetness

All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.

Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
