In 1934 Augusto Dal Cero purchased land in Verona on two long-extinct volcanoes. After the war, he cleared the land, planted grapes and founded Tenuta di Corte Giacobbe. In the 1980s Augusto's sons purchased an estate in Tuscany and, more recently, have expanded into Valpolicella.
A dry white wine that appears to have been etched from electric orchard and citrus fruits and also the soil from which it has come. Crunchy green apple fruit combines with lemon and even a touch of grapefruit. Did I find a hint of something stone fruit-y about it? A question of peach. The palate is very lively and wonderfully defined and clearly is a thing of its origins i.e. a volcano in northern Italy. Orchard fruit abounds, underpinned by very mineral, zippy acidity. And its extreme length is hemmed in by earthy structure. A stunner! Bowes Wine original note

All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
