2010 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc, Pessac Léognan

2010 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc, Pessac Léognan

Ref: BORD1052
White  |  Still  |  13% ABV

Domaine de Chevalier is not easy to find, hidden in woodland as it is. The Ricard family, who owned the property from 1865 to 1983 introduced drainage in the '60s tom improve the moisture-retaining soils. The Bernard family bought Domaine de Chevalier in '83 and started buying neighbouring plots until the vineyard area was almost doubled in size. Trees around parts of the vineyard have been cleared, since they increased the risk of frost. And new wine-making facilities were added in order to cope with the additional volume of production. The red and white wines from this estate are among the finest of their commune.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes

"A stunning example of what Domaine de Chevalier Blanc does at its best. Racy, fresh and crisp, with white flowers, honeysuckle, and citrus peel, the nose is quite showy. The palate is even more flamboyant, balanced between crisp, racy fruits, acidity, and sweetness, this is still on the youthful side. Give it another 5-7 years and enjoy it for another decade or two after that." The Wine Cellar Insider

Sweetness Explained
Sweetness Explained

Sweetness

All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.

Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
