2000 Château Cos Labory, St Estèphe

2000 Château Cos Labory, St Estèphe

Ref: COSL000
Red  |  Still  |  12.5% ABV

The name of the estate comes from its geographical location on the Cos hill and the name of François Labory, who was the first owner until 1845. Mr. d'Estournel then acquired it before selling it again to an English banker, Charles Martyns in 1852. The property was finally taken over by George Weber in the 1930's, who bequeathed it to his daughter and son-in-law, François Audoy in 1959. In 1971, the couple acquired the neighbouring estate, Château Andron Blanquet. Their sons worked with them on the two estates for a few years and then the elder, Bernard, took over the running of the properties.

"Looks evolved at the rim. Solid, chunky, and very mineral. Thick, but very satisfying for the patient. Fully ripe fruit and fully ripe tannins. Lots of acidity." Jancis Robinson

Sweetness Explained
Sweetness Explained

Sweetness

All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.

Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
