The three Doisy properties - Védrines, Daëne and Dubroca - were once part of a huge Barsac estate. It sold sold by the Védrines family and subsequently broken into three pieces, of which Védrines is the largest with 28 hectares under vine. The property is now owned by the Castéja family: proprietors of a number of Bordeaux chateaux, as well as a large negociant business.

"Tasted at the château, the 2010 Château Doisy-Védrines has an elegant bouquet that does not quite deliver the intensity of either the 2009 or indeed, the 2011, but there are delightful scents of citrus fruit, yellow plum and quince to enjoy and the aromas are nicely delineated. The palate is focused and balanced with the hints of passion fruit that I noticed before, precise and poised with a linear finish. There is a pleasing sense of energy and tension to this wine. I could even imagine commencing a dinner with this instead of finishing - why not? Drink over the next two decades." Neal Martin
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
