2013 Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru, Bachelet-Monnot

2013 Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru, Bachelet-Monnot

Ref: BACH134
White  |  Still  |  13.5% ABV

Marc and Alex Bachelet have rapidly taken their 10 hectare domaine to the top of the Burgundy hierarchy. They work their vineyards naturally, eschewing herbicides. And they practice pre-ox for their whites, a technique whereby the pressed juice is allowed to oxidise before fermentation, stabilising the finished wine and obviating the risk of prem-ox i.e. the wine ageing prematurely. A domaine renowned for their electric white wines, do not ignore their reds, which are utterly delicious too. The domaine headquarters are in the delightfully-named Dézize-lès-Maranges, in the very south of the Côte de Beaune.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes

"The 2013 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a very refined bouquet with subtle floral, mineral scents infusing the citrus fruit. This is so refined. The palate is well balanced with very well integrated oak, plenty of mineralité here, great tension, basically a class act that is going to only improve with continued bottle age. This delivers." Sweetness Explained
Sweetness Explained

Sweetness

All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.

Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
