Domaine Rollin Père et Fils works 14 hectares of vines in five different communes in the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. The domaine, situated in Pernand-Vergelesses (A village behind the Hill of Corton) was founded in 1955 by Maurice Rollin, but it was his father who had started to assemble parcels of vines, from which he produced his own wine outside work hours (like his father, he was employed as a vineyard worker by another winery in the village). Rémi, Maurice's son, has now been joined by his own son, Simon.

This is pale in the glass and the nose is rather reserved and shows a touch of the wood spice over fruit of pear and those small oranges. Across the tongue, this is all about a rich density that gathers into a proper nutty sustain. This also adds a steely thrust that develops into spiciness at the back. All here. A belter of a grand cru.
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
