Vines have been grown in this region - between Marseilles and Toulon - since the 6th century BC. Tempier itself already existed during the reign of Louis XV (early 18th century), whilst the Tempier house was constructed in 1834. The estate has 38 hectares split between various parcels, from which they make some of the most profound and longest-living red wines of all. And the Domaine Tempier rosé is often cited as being the finest in the world and is also capable of long development in bottle.
