Etienne Sauzet created this celebrated domaine in the first half of the 20th century, having inherited some vineyards and acquired others. The estate is now run by Emilie Sauzet, great-granddaughter of Etienne, and her partner Benoît Riffault. In 1991 some vineyards were lost through inheritance to Emilie's uncle, Jean-Marc Boillot. The estate now augments its production with bought-in fruit sourced from trusted growers. Sauzet has been biodynamic since 2010.

This just looks dense in the glass. Nose is very scented, ripe, of beautiful pear fruit. There are hints of liquorice and limestone. Across the palate, powerful and very rich, of crisp lemon fruit and spice. Great drive here through to a very long finish, drily mineral. Very long and intense wine. Supercharged! Bowes wine original note
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
