Today the BSB vineyard amounts to 20 hectares, but it has had a chequered history. Once part of the larger Beau-Séjour estate succession led to it being divided between two children. One married a M Duffau-Lagarosse and that surname was duly appended to that estate. The other half was purchased in 1924 by Doctor Jean Fagouet, becoming Beau-Séjour-Fagouet. Michel Becot, whose family had lived in the area since the 18th century, bought up bits and pieces of BSF to add to his owned property, Château La Carte, eventually changing its name to BSB. This year (2018) Michel Rolland retires from consulting at BSB after many years, with Thomas Duclos chosen as his successor.

"At just past 10 years of bottle age, this is starting to open nicely, with a nose packed with earth, truffle, crushed stone, juicy plums and tobacco. Refined, elegant and soft, the finish leaves you with a rich sensation of pure, ripe blackberries." The Wine Cellar Insider
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
