I visited Vincent at his winery back in November 2018 and subsequently saw him again and retasted his wines in London in January 2019. Vincent makes a village Chablis that is designed for immediate consumption, whilst retaining excellent character. But it’s his premiers crus that I really love. Both the winery and vineyards are on the left bank of the River Serein in a sector that produces especially mineral wines.

More limestone in the vineyard here. Vines are 55 years old. All stainless steel, too. Aromas are defined and bright and contain some dried white flowers. There’s a touch of something rooty here – almost liquorice – amongst the wealth of fruit on the palate. It’s more upright, with lovely bright orchard and citrus fruit and that saline apple acidity within. A chalky, lightly smoky core. Fabulous tension here. Super stuff. Bowes Wine original note
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.

Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.

If a wine is being listed duty paid, only the duty paid price is shown. Duty Paid wines have been removed from Bonded Storage and cannot be returned to an Under Bond status. They can be stored in a professional warehouse but will be stored Duty Paid.
