After 25 years as a political journalist in Washington DC, Blair Pethel followed his dream to becoming a Burgundy vigneron and settled in the region in 2003. Having worked for a time at Raveneau, Jean-Marc Pillot and Patrice Rion, Blair set up on his own and started bottling wines from both Chablis and the Côte d'Or.

A beautiful thing in the glass, this, shining like a clear greenish-lemon crystal. And the nose is met by aromas of delightful density, including floral notes and fruit of green apple and pear. There's a hint of lime that makes one briefly think about Riesling and then the lime is met by gunflint. There's some powdered chalk, as well as dried flowers and ivy leaf. Once in the mouth, the wine's acidity comes across as medium-fresh and lime-y. Nice easy control on the palate; very long and devloping superb intensity. I find a powdery minerality. Superb GC Chablis. Bowes Wine original note
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
