In 1934 Augusto Dal Cero purchased land in Verona on two long-extinct volcanoes. After the war, he cleared the land, planted grapes and founded Tenuta di Corte Giacobbe. In the 1980s Augusto's sons purchased an estate in Tuscany and, more recently, have expanded into Valpolicella.

A super-defined nose of salted Golden Delicious apples and dry, spiced fruits. There's a touch of grapefruit pithiness about this, along with a resinous complexity. In fact this is an extremely complex thing to nose: a fascination. The palate offers great cut from very near the front. There's fine saline definition to the firm core of pithy acidity. Real spice here. And the energy is notable: great vim enclosed within. A very long thing this, through which runs a thread of green lemon, firm acidity. And then it comes together into lasting, even grip. Bowes Wine original note
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
