Louis Jadot founded his eponymous busines in 1859, three decades after his purchase of the Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules vineyard. His intention was to build a negociant firm focused on the northern European markets. Many vineyard holdings were added at the turn of the century. Today, the vast Jadot business is split into various domaines: Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot is a business controlling the historic vineyard holdings of the Jadot family; Domaine Louis Jadot, founded in 1985, has been extending vineyard holdings with parcels of some of the Côte d'Or's most celebrated vineyards; Château des Jacques controls some 88 hectares of prime land in the Beaujolais, and Résonance Oregon, founded in 2013, producing wine from burgundian varietals in that US state.

"The 2010 Beaune Clos des Couchereaux wafts from the glass with sweet red cherries, flowers, mint and spices, all of which are woven together beautifully in a classy, medium-bodied style that is undeniably appealing. The higher altitude site gives this wine an airy quality that is absolutely gorgeous, yet there is an understated weight to the finish that is striking for the way it balances all of the elements in the glass. This is a gorgeous Beaune." Antonio Galloni
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
