The modern era for Karamolegos starts in 2004, when the winery started producing PDO (Protected Denomination of Origin) wine using modern equipment. Since then, awards and plaudits have been many and widespread.

A pale and very clear lemon yellow in the glass. Aromas are distinct and clearly defined. It offers up varietal scents of lemon and earth, along with hints of spice and a grapefruit pithiness. And there’s a blatant minerality going on here. Nuts skins, pear later. Really good weight of fruit in the mouth, but superb tension too. That tension is all about the citrus freshness: the pithy grapefruit thing comes to mind again. But that freshness is concealed within the fruit density. Grip starts early, pushes forward, rising into a lemon-soaked, serious ending. An earthy minerality is tucked within. Very long. The afterthoughts are all of mineral volcanic soils. A stunner. Bowes Wine original note
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
