Jean Chauvenet's son-in-law Christophe Drag now runs this domaine of almost 10 hectares, all of which lie within the commune of Nuits St Georges. It makes for quite a tasting, a visit here, since Christophe vinifies seven premiers crus vineyards, as well as a number of village/lieu dit cuvées. In a controlled environment like this, the differences of terroir character in each vineyard are transparent.

"This is really quite pretty and notably more elegant than its '11 equivalent with better aromatic depth to the broad-ranging nose of ripe red currant, plum, violets and warm earth that is trimmed in a discreet touch of wood. There is lovely verve to the unusually refined flavors as the mouth feel is really quite sophisticated for a Nuits villages, all wrapped in a firm but not hard or unduly rustic finish. This is approachable enough to be enjoyed young yet firm enough to suggest that this would benefit from 5 to 7 years of cellar time." Burghound
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
