Petrolo is a family-owned estate of just 26 hectares in the hills of the Val d'Arno, east of Chianti Classico. The estate has a history dating back to the 1700s, but it was in the 1990s that Petrolo established itself among the leading names of the Tuscan wine renaissance.
Petrolo has also taken an increasingly natural approach to viticulture, farming organically and using dry farming, grassing and minimal intervention to encourage balance in the vineyard.

A historic Sangiovese vineyard, Bòggina was planted in 1947 and has been progressively replanted using massal selection of the original vines.

Readers should expect an ethereal wine that favors floral and savory overtones more than primary fruit. The 2024 is very pretty and boasts a ton of character. Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
