Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes

Nose here offers a touch of mint, but is quite shy in its youthfulness. There’s a hint of toast from the wood. The palate is dense, with really tangy acidity right through it. There’s lots of energy here: great drive and vim. A very long wine of really firm apple acidity within. This grips into the long term and is spiced at the ending. A big wine crying out for cellaring. Bowes Wine original note

“But this also shows more energy than the Cabotte and finishes with a serious tannic spine and the rocky minerality to support a slow evolution in bottle.” Stephen Tanzer

Sweetness Explained
Sweetness Explained

Sweetness

All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.

Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
